| OUR REASON FOR BEING |
Essential Literacy Education is a simple concept long overdue. It starts with the premise that a strong democratic society needs a literate populace and recognizes that an embarrassing number of people leave the public education system with less than functional literacy.
Essential Literacy Education is an initiative for a dramatically different learning program for the undereducated adult learner. It recreates the basic core curriculum and truly educates the adult learner in the knowledge and thinking skills they actually need to be successful, and it does this by giving students a learning experience that is interesting, exciting and intrinsically rewarding. Essential Literacy Education is reinventing the way people are being educated.
Essential Ed GED programs are a powerful solution to a demanding task. For the director and teacher of a career education project it is a complete educational program that is flexible enough for all learners. Every base is covered, from assessment, management and instruction. For the adult learner, it is an extraordinary new way to learn and be successful. The adult learner gets the skills and knowledge they need to obtain their GED certificate, and most important, they get the essential literacy they need to be a success in their lives. No small thing.
